**Participation in this camp requires Camp Director approval and previous HYT Improv experience**
This advanced improv class, designed for artists ages 9 – 18, is for students who have taken previous HYT Improv classes and are ready for the next step in their training towards advanced, in-depth study of the art of improv theatre. Students will focus on more challenging, detailed, specific storytelling and character creations applied to narrative long-form improv styles. Students will learn how to put theory into practice on stage as they prepare a improv showcase of games, scenes, and comedy to be performed in front of a live audience. And every camp member gets to play a role on-stage!
Morning Classes – the first part of our days is spent learning the ways and techniques to enhance and develop your spontaneity, listening, character development, problem solving and creativity.
Class exercises are geared toward teaching you to trust yourself as you practice listening, responding, and creating characters in real-time.
Afternoon Rehearsal is devoted to putting theory into practice on stage as we prepare a hilarious improv showcase of games, scenes, and comedy to be performed in front of a live audience. And every camp member gets to play a role on-stage!
